The “Pocket Pants” were created to be useful and practical. They have visible seams in places where joints bend, as a signal of mobility and practicality. These seams also emulate a sort of medieval armor, as one of the most characteristic features of armor is that they are stiff, but allow the body’s extremities to move. Sadly, for many women in Mexico, clothing is a way to protect themselves from violence. Clothes work as armor. Pockets are fundamental.
